Removal of 1927 Porch Reveals Beauty of the Previously Hidden Transom Window over Front Entrance to Evans House

Front of Evans House

The week before Christmas, workers under the supervision of Ozanne Construction removed the decaying 1927 front porch of 33 East Vine Street. This revealed the full beauty of the Evans House’s brick facade with a striking transom window over the front door. The next step in the house’s rehabilitation will be the construction of a new porch designed in the period-appropriate style of the original porch that Wilson Bruce Evans installed in 1887.
