The Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society (EHHS) is committed to protecting information that may be collected when patrons and visitors interact with the organization, its website, or social media pages and will only use such information for related activities of the organization, such as communicating with patrons, processing transactions, promoting events, and evaluating the impact of our services. EHHS adopted this privacy policy to explain what information may be collected, how it is used, and your options for privacy. Questions, concerns, and opt-out requests can be sent to director@evanshhs.org at any time.

Contact Information. In the course of participating in EHHS programs and services, the organization may collect your name and contact information. Such information may be used to share future information with you about EHHS and track where patrons are from. Contact information is never used for any purpose not directly tied to EHHS activities and is never shared with an unaffiliated third party.

At any time, individuals may choose to stop receiving any and/or all communications from the Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society. When EHHS is contacted by individuals hoping to communicate with someone affiliated with the organization, such as a board member, contact information is never shared without permission.

Financial Information. EHHS keeps financial information about contributions and grants for legal reporting requirements and preparing acknowledgments to donors. Donation information is never given to outside parties excepting for legal reporting purposes. Donor names are shared in Annual Reports and donors may occasionally be featured in a newsletter or on the EHHS website. Donors can choose to be listed anonymously at any time. Online purchases made by credit card are managed by a secure third-party and as such EHHS does not handle or store online credit card information. Credit card information from purchases made onsite, via phone, or via mail is immediately shredded and discarded once the transaction has been processed.

Participant Data. EHHS collects statistical information about participants, donors, and visitors for the purposes of knowing how many people the organization is serving, evaluating programmatic impact, and submitting reports to grant supporters. Such information is only shared in summary format, never individual.

Photographs. EHHS may take photographs of individuals and groups that participate in a tour, program, or another service. Verbal or written permission is sought from adult guardians before any photographs are taken or shared of youth. Photographs may be archived for historical purposes, shared online, used to promote future events, or shared in grant reports. At any time, participants may opt to not be photographed or have their photograph removed from EHHS-controlled websites or social media.

Children. EHHS’s website and social media networks are not directed to children under the age of 18 and EHHS does not knowingly permit registration or transactions by children. EHHS will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from or about minors except for specific
services, such as youth camps, junior internships, volunteer opportunities, and research requests from students. Such information will not be used or shared for any other purpose and at any time guardians can request that such information is deleted and communication ended.

Internal Safeguards. EHHS’s financial and donor databases are password protected and only shared with EHHS staff on an as-needed basis. Staff members are expected to safeguard passwords and password-protected resources to the best of their abilities. EHHS’s data network is protected as much as current resources allow.

Usage Data. EHHS’s website and social media pages routinely collect non-personally-identifying information such as where users are connecting from, what operating system is used, and what web pages are most frequently accessed. Such data is only collected in summary format, not to the individual level, and is used for evaluating and improving our online services.

Online Personally-Identifiable Information. Visitors to the Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society’s website or social media pages may interact in ways that involve sharing personally-identifying information, such as completing online sales, tour reservations, or donation transactions, or interacting with social media pages like Facebook and Instagram. The amount and type of information that EHHS gathers depend on the nature of the interaction. Personally-identifying information is only used to process individual transactions or communications. Credit card transactions are managed by a secure third-party and card numbers are not shared with EHHS. If users share information or comments on publicly accessible platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, such responses may be visible to other individuals and third parties EHHS has no control over. EHHS may archive public comments for historical purposes as they relate to EHHS’s mission.

The EHHS website and blog also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. EHHS does not use or disclose such information. Links to
