Carol Lasser, Emerita Professor of History, Oberlin College, serves as Executive Director of the Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society.

Carol has lived in Oberlin since 1980.  For nearly four decades, she taught about women, gender and race in American history at Oberlin College.  She chaired the History Department and the Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies Program, and she served as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. She was director of OCEAN, a program that brought together Oberlin College faculty and high school history teachers in the surrounding area.  She is the joint author, with Gary Kornblith, of Elusive Utopia: The Struggle for Racial Equality in Oberlin, Ohio(LSU Press, 2018) as well as other works on topics ranging from woman suffrage to utopianism.  Carol is past president of the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR).
