Evans Home Historical Society to hold 6th Annual Meeting on Sat., Sept. 19

The Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society is excited to welcome everyone to its 6th Annual Meeting to be held at the Oberlin Underground Railroad Center, 291 South Main Street (behind McDonalds), Saturday, September 19, 11 am to 1 pm. This meeting is free and open to the public.

We invite the community to celebrate with us! As the rehabilitation of the Evans House nears completion, we embrace this year’s theme: “ALMOST HOME!”

Highlights of the meeting will include:
–Bestowal of Legacy Guardian Award on Adenike Sharpley, Historian and Creator of Juneteenth Oberlin
–Bestowal of Heritage Guardian Award on Wendy Hoge Naylor, Historic Preservation Consultant
–“Exhibiting Courage and Resilience in Challenging Times: The Stories Told by the Evans House and Grounds,” a presentation by the principals of Agnes Studio, Romano & Min Projects, and Deru Landscape

Music will be performed by Oberlin Choristers. Cupcakes will be provided by Molly Cakes.
